Mild Ale is a mid-strength ale that delivers full-bodied flavour. A rewarding, sessionable brew, Mild Ale's smooth malt character is balanced by double hopping with Pride of Ringwood and Saaz hops.

Tap at the Park Hotel, Nicholson St, Melbourne. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light watery dry cardboard malt light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Truly awful.

375ml bottle from Dan Murphy’s, Hurstville. Hazy yellow gold colour, white foam head and grainy aroma. Taste is malt, grain, fruity some biscuit and grassy metallic bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, dry slightly grassy bitter finish. OK.

Think this is much better than rated here. Nice mellow nuttiness, gentle dark malts and soft sweetness. Easy to drink, too easy

On tap. Pours slightly cloudy yellow. No nose to speak off. Faint taste, but it?s hard to tell among the carbonization what it is. Not that the latter is particularly strong, it?s rather mild as well. If someone told me it’s a lager I’d believe, which is quite an accomplishment for a mild ale.

375ml bottle into schooner glass. Slightly sweet yeasty nose. Cloudy yellow with lasting fluffy head. Almost tasteless, sharp hop bitterness on the palate. Refreshing but watery. Not a mild (the style is unknown in Australia), just a mid-strength Coopers.

Bottled 375 ml from Dan Murphy’s, Eltham (Melbourne). On July 28, 2013.Best after 27/05/13.Hazy yellow color, fluffy white head. Sweet, malty, bread, grainy taste. Dry, grainy aftertaste. Medium a bit fizzy and thin mouthfeel, low bitterness. Sweet, malty scent.Sort of boring.

From a 375ml bottle on 30/8/2012. Pours a cloudy light yellow with little head. Has a slight fruity yeasty aroma. Flavour wise, there are hints of Coopers Pale and Sparkling, but on a very subdued scale - a little fruity and yeasty, with a decent hop bitterness. All up, this is not bad for a mid-strength, but you’ll wish is was a Sparkling.

Bottle. I thought mild was a reference to the low ABV, this tasted like an inoffensive golden ale to me. Pale gold with plenty of fizz, a touch of sweet malts and bitter finish. Forgettable.
