Folk Hero’s first beer.
Light, bright, and flavorful. This is a tart wheat ale with Piran sea salt and crushed coriander seeds added during boil, and soured with lactobacillus plantarum. Subtle notes of orange and pineapple from a hot Kveik fermentation complement and complete the recipe’s tart and fruity nature.
This style hails from Goslar, in northern central Germany, and was popularized in Leipzig. It has seen a much-deserved revival with the craft beer industry. This is our take on it.

Tap, Kavarna Cukrarna. Almost clear pale golden, smaller white head, not too lasting. Medium soury nose, vinous with some stale wine cellar notes, later on some lemon presence. Mild sourness, slightly puckery. Tart finish, turns into quite salty. Lasting aftertaste. Light and very fresh. Lovely summer beer.
