Workers developed strong bonds and collective actions that often extended beyond the boundaries of professional life. From guilds and participation in collective struggles to rebetiko culture and mutual support during difficult times of war, dockworkers essentially highlighted the value of solidarity, laying the foundation for significant social changes that remain vibrant within working-class and broader communities to this day.
