It’s fitting this experimental pale ale was the first beer brewed at our Portland Pub. This XPA gets its bitter twist from Nugget, and Northern Brewer hops, then delivers a pronounced citrus kick from Cascade, Centennial and Citra hops. Consider this your next hop obsession.
Malt: Crystal
Hops: Nugget, Northern Brewer, Citra, Cascade, Centennial

22oz bottle from the state store
Pours clear dark golden with a medium sized off-white head, good lacing. Aroma not pleasant, onions, sharp citrus and wet towel. Taste of citrus, floral, bready and bitter orange peel
A strange beer, not bad but not very good either. I don’t want another one.

Bottle: An inch of creamy sand colored head on top of a clear copper pour. Quite a bit of sheet lacing. Nose is light, herbal and floral with light pine. Piney and floral hops in the taste, a little citrus and something that resembles apple cider. Finished a little herbal and earthy. Light lingering bitters. Not bad, but with Mirror Pond in the lineup… this is a benchwarmer.

650 ml bottle. Pours a yellow/copper with very light head. Aromas of brown sugar, rubber, dry fruity marmalade and pine. Flavors of toast, pine, and bitter citrus rinds. Clean, bitter finish but expecting more based on the aromas.

On tap at Thai me up in Jackson Wyoming it is a clear light ambercolor with a creamy head due to the fact it is a nitrous. It has a pineapple aroma and the taste is light and bitter on the palate

22oz bottle pours out a orange golden topped with a fluffy white head. Nose is nice a good hop mix citrus and sweetness. Taste is as the nose with a good hop touch pine citrus and a nice mellow end. Not much of any bitterness.

Much more like an English Pale ale than American. Carpet lacing and great head on nitro. Finishes with light sourness, light malt but a little thin on palate. Creamy texture. Tap at Good Dog takeover event.

Bomber bought at Super 1 in Post Falls, ID. Aroma is floral, perfumy hops, fairly muted. Pine comes through after it sits a bit. Pours hazy orange with a medium off-white head with decent retention. Taste is citrusy and quite bitter. Slightly foamy mouthfeel. Decent beer, but it doesn’t seem all that experimental to me.
