This collaboration with the wonderful All Day Brewing in Norwich is based on our beloved Staffordshire Knot brown ale. Together we decided to brew a bigger American hopped version with loads of boil end Cascade, Centennial and Simcoe hops. The boy scouts of America call the 'Staffordshire Knot' an 'Overhand' knot. Thus, Overhand American Brown Ale is born!

Cask at Craft Beer Co St Mary Axe. Darkest brown. Little to no light makes it through. Frothy lightly foamed beige head provides about 50% coverage. Aroma has chocolate, nougat and nuts. Sweet with a hint of bitterness. Initial sweetness - as per aroma - followed by a tart berry steak and black coffee bitterness. Actually... it gets quite vinous. Medium bodied. Oily. Soft carbonation. Long astringent finish. Characterful American Brown.
