There’s something satisfying about a beer that knows exactly what it’s doing. Zumo was built with intention—Pilsner malt for structure, a cold fermentation to keep things clean, and a lineup of hops that aren’t just there for noise. Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, and a newcomer named Zumo. The kind of hop most brewers haven’t had their hands on yet.

What it offers is subtle but specific—kiwi, green pear, the oily zest of just-peeled orange. Bright, almost electric. Then it steps back. The bitterness is firm but measured. The finish is dry, precise. It doesn’t linger. It doesn’t need to.

On tap at The Magnet, pours a lightly hazed golden with a large white head. Aroma seems rather laid-back in the hop department, with bitter citrus peel, biscuity malt, and some toasted graininess. Flavour is certainly on the sweeter side, with tropical fruits, sweet cereal malts, and subdued citrus hops. Have the hops died here or is this a very lightly-hopped IIPA? Doesn’t really strike me as a westie. Decently constructed but not really the kind of IIPA I gravitate towards.

Ive had a few hit or miss IPAs from Four Winds lately. Clear golden pour with decent head. Nectarine and pineapple marmalade. A lot of caramel, too much for a good double IPA. Light bitter end. Can.

Slight haze, pale, thick head. Aroma is lemony, pale malt, light herbals, grassiness. On the palate, lots of malt, pale and clean, slight alcohol in the finish, mellow hop notes.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 03/04/25). Chill hazed yellow gold with small white head. Green herbaceous hops upfront with some feint kiwi skin in the background that offsets what could be too herbaceous. Doesn't quite hit the mark, but something new and interesting. Okay.
