Brown with beaded head. Biscuit and caramel nose. A surprising fruitiness in concert with the bread malts. Very cosy brown ale.

From a 330ml bottle on 26/1/2011. Pours a dark reddish brown. The aroma is quite chocolatey and malty, with some dough thrown in. The palate is extremely creamy and smooth. The flavour is primarily sweet milk chocolate, with just a hint of bitterness to provide a contrast. Quite interesting and reasonably enjoyable, but it would be better if it was more assertive at the end.

Bottle. Brown, disappearing light beige head. Nuts and toast aroma. Just sweet and very nutty flavour. Very mouthfilling malt - with dark fruit, nuts and light roast - but is a long way from cloying. Hints of spice and citrus hops in a subtle finish. Balanced and tasty.

Pours brown with a small head.Aroma shows lots of toasty, nutty and roasted malt as well as some oats. Behind this is some light piney hops. I was expecting more hops for an American brown ale, but this is still enjoyable.Flavours are very similar, but very sweet, with very little bitterness. Again, not very American, more of an English brown.Carbonation is low, which suits the beer well.
