Bottle. Black color with nice dark beige head. Aroma is tonka beans, vanilla, cocoa, something mystical and dark about this, unfermented cocoa beans, a touch of cinnamon, burnt coconut. Taste is cocoa, chocolate, sweetish vanilla, cinnamon, burnt coconut. Medium carbonation. Daring, complex, and different. Top-notch stuff!

Bottle. Cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, berry fruitiness. Black, dark brown cream. Medium full body, mellow mouthfeel. Intense Swedish cinnamon roll topped with tropical berry jam. Light pepper/chili, chocolate and vanilla retronasal. Great balance, simply great.

Bottle. Black with a tan head thatβs soon a coat. Luscious chocolate aroma with strong bread, gentle spices. Quite sweet and very chocolatey with enough bitterness at the end for the finish to be a vanishing act. Thereβs some roast but the chocolate and the odd nutty/ spiciness (mace, vanilla, cinnamon) of the tonka beans drive the show. After a while the alcohol starts to be a bit wearing. Itβs a very good chocolate beer but I wanted more stout.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Inky black, dark espresso head completely disappearing within a minute. Tonka upfront, like a stale coconut glazed with honey, vague cocoa. Taste: earthy tonka weirdness, acidic roast, cooking chocolate, coffee. Interesting, I suppose.

Bottle at home. Pours completely black, seems really thick and oily and has no head. Aroma is already very interesting and super complex. Classic imperial stout traits are there (intense roast, loads of chocolate malt and roasted barley) but there is so much more. Iβm not really an expert on Tonka beans, but I can smell both the vanilla and the cocoa beans very distinctly - they are actually quite intense. Overall spiced and fresh, almost minty aroma. Medium body and rather oily, sweet and rich and creamy smooth first taste impression. Follow by an explosion of flavours; intense chocolate, loads of coffee (despite no coffee beans!), vanilla, caramel, raisins, licorice, lots of spices in general. Woah. Very sweet and rich but not noticeable boozy despite its 13%. Finishes herbal, boozy, sweet and a bit smokey/leathery. Amazing stuff, Iβve had few imperial stouts as good as this one.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with small dark brown head. Aroma is very intense of shredded coconut, vanilla, cocoa, strawberry jam, oatmeal, syrup, cardamom and soy sauce. Taste is light to medium sweet, medium to very bitter, light to medium acidic and faint salty. Body is rich, thick and creamy with soft carbonation. Finish is very long and balanced sweet and bitter (more to the bitter side) with notes of coconut, vanilla, coffee, gravy, soy sauce, bitter grapefruit and hints of raw licorice drops. Very intense and complex yet with many subtle notes.

0,33l Bottle. Dark as dark can be. Pours with a dark black color and a small muddy brown head. The nose is tonka bean, sweet woodruff, coffee and dark chocolate. Its full-boddies and low carbonated. Taste od vanilla and herbal spices, cold coffe, dark chocolate. Slightly bitter. The finish ist long lasting with fat coffe/espresso notes. More bitter than I thought.
