On tap at Orsted Olbar. Pours black with short head. Aromas of cinnamon, dark chocolate, and cold black coffee. Flavors of dry dusty coffee beans and roasted malts. Oily and spicy. Super rich - super dry. Super.

(330ml bottle from kihoskh.dk) Pours pitch black with a small tight medium tan head that lasts. Aroma strongly of spiced chocolate cake with raisins and cinnamon, maybe gingerbread and other dark fruits, some vanilla, molasses and light to moderate roast from malts behind. Taste has an intense core of molasses, dark raisins, dates, prunes, dark fruit jam, lightly sweetened chocolate cake, gingerbread, cinnamon, vanilla beans, hints of star anise. Finish is semi-sweet with a bit of drying alcohol, soft roast bitterness behind, but long persistence of fruit and spices as well. Medium full body, very soft carb. Big, rich and full of flavour, but balanced, One of the best spice-forward beers I’ve had. Big wow.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers! Pours oily black with a creamy, tan head. Lots of vanilla and coconut in the nose, some chocolate and roasted malts. Big and sweet in the flavour, somewhat sugary, with rich chocolate character, nice dark fruits, toasted almond. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, oily and creamy, with some gooey chocolate, mellow earthy bitterness, more dark fruits. Great stuff overall. Decadent.

Keg at the Fox, Haggerston. Pours black with a thin dirty tan head Aroma of coconut and marzipan. Taste of coconut, marshmallow, a little booze and a little coffee develops into liquorice and raisins. Quite a boozy hit. Couldn’t drink lots of it but good and interesting.

(bottle, 33cl) Black colour with a brown and short foamy head. Syrupy dark malty aroma with notes of chocolate, pistachios, coconut, dark fruits and hints of vanilla. Sweet and mildly bitter flavour, full bodied with a creamy carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Molassy dark malty base with loads of chocolate and nutty flavours, cocos, persipan, tonka, as well as liquorice and spicy hints, like cinnamon and pepper; long-lasting, well-rounded sweet-bitter and mildly spicy finish with a warming alcoholic strength. Exciting. 17.II.16
