13/10/2022. Draught at the Amstel Club, Cranbourne West. Pours black with a creamy pale beige head. Aroma is chocolate, malt, light coffee, ash, vanilla, dried fruits, hint of liquorice. Medium sweetness and mild roasted bitterness. Quite full bodied, average carbonation. Developed nicely as it warmed. Very good.

Pours very dark brown with a small fading head.Nose shows lots of sweet malt, with chocolate, hazelnut and vanilla notes. Reminiscent of pralines and chocolate syrup.Loads more nutty notes as flavours along with chocolate and roasted coffee. Finishes on an cloyingly sweet bready note.Carbonation is a bit too high.

Bottle. Dark brown with a small tan head that dissipates. Aroma of chocolate, prunes, cherries, coffee and licorice. Taste has a tiny bit of roasted malt, more dark stewed fruit and chocolate. Silky mouthfeel with just a hint of carbonation. Sweet with a touch of bitterness at the finish. Subtle and good.
