Hops, and lots of them! Bitterness with tropical, citrusy and piney notes that is balanced by a malty backbone.

Cask, New Sydney Hotel, Hobart. Amber, frothy. Bright tropical hop aroma. Moderate bitterness, fresh malt characters has just a slight bit of toastiness.

There’s a slightly dusty aroma followed by loads of orange peel, grapefruit, honey, melon and lychee. The tropical flavors are prominent in the mouth, along with tart citrus. Unfortunately the lack of malt means it all dissipates a bit quickly and there’s a slightly off aftertaste i don’t like.

Pours amber with a large lasting head.Nose shows lychee, passionfruit, nectarine and some delicate clean malt underneath. Some of the fruit transfers through as a flavour along with a soft hit of clean malt and biscuity notes. Finishes with an assertive bitterness.

Bottle. Clear pale amber with a modest white head. Not bursting with aroma, but there’s grapefruit, passionfruit, caramel and pine. More tropical fruit in the taste - mango as well as passionfruit, caramel and light biscuity sweetness. Pine is there towards the end but gets a bit lost. For me, needed to finish a bit drier to shine. Mellow and pleasant enough but a bit underwhelming.
