Bottle shared with friends. Poured a murky dark amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is floral aniseed, burnt plastic. Kinda smells like a burnt out motor on a scalextric racing car! The flavour is moderate sweet with a crisp, rich, oily, alcoholic, sugary fruit palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and an oily frothy mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle shared at Mechazilla. Brown with purple highlights and not much head. Big oaky nose with lots of sour prune, overripe plum and cherry and spices. The saffron jumps out on the palate but still hides behind the oak. More sour dark fruit. Finish is slightly boozy and almost port like in body. Syrupy and think. Not my kind of thing but interesting. --- Beer merged from original tick of Jumping The Shark (2014) on 04 May 2016 at 20:49 - Score: 8

Dark mahogany color. Thin white head. Massive Hungarian oak nose with cherries and caramel. If you like licking oak this is great. Moderately sweet the carbonation is weird. Thick and syrupy lots of cherries, milk chocolate . Just big and extreme everywhere not sure what to think. I like it but certainly don’t love it.

375ml bottle. Pours reddish brown with a medium head. Sweet fruity nose, plums? Alcoholic sweet taste, almost like a sparkly liquor. Very strong, a bit too extreme for my taste.

Pours dark amber, small head.Nose shows full-on saffron, orange marmalade and bready malt. Very sweet-smelling, incredibly potent.Similar sweet and boozy flavours. Again, lots of marmalade notes and saffron. A little medicinal.Pretty crazy and interesting stuff, even if it was a bit of a struggle to get through!

Bottle. Bronze with a yellow-tinged beige head that lasts pretty well. Aroma of furniture polish, plums, saffron, dark sugars. After I sat there looking at it for a while the polish retreated a bit and I half convinced myself that it was lots of saffron and fresh oak with dark fruit. And the taste _is_ more like that, although Mr Sheen is there. Alcohol is pretty well hidden and there’s enough bitterness that the plum, raisin and dried banana sweetness doesn’t overwhelm. Woody and herbal finish. Some things going for it, but I just couldn’t get past the furniture polish.
