Aurora is a 6.7% ABV red rye IPA loaded with Equinox, Centennial, Motueka, and Experimental Hop 07270. This pungent, complex IPA marries the spicy malt character of rye with the fruity dankness of new wave American & New Zealand hops. Aurora pours a gorgeous ruby red, making it the perfect IPA for Fall (if it ever comes to San Diego).

(Can) Reddish amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, treacle-toffee, rye bread, pink grapefruit, pine needles and dried apricots. Malty, fruity, hoppy taste with notes of caramel, crisp-bread, pink grapefruit, dried apricots, pine needles, syrup and a generous citric/piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Not sure it's perfectly balanced, but there's lots of taste. Nice one.

Tap at Grub. Nice. Citrus, grapefruit, bit floral, malty. Little bit of sweetness. Something orange sherbert like there too. I should quit rating beers. I don't know what I'm saying.

Tap at Mikkeller Bangkok. Poured a hazy reddish dark amber with a big frothy white head. The aroma is bready biscuit dough, red berry fruit and woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a rich fruity malt, woody resin hop, light spice, light toothpaste bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Draught. Deep amber liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, toffee, tangerine, grain and bread. Taste is very light sweet and medium bitter with notes of caramel, raw sugar, toffee and citrus. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Kinda malty and old school. My least favorite of the Modem Tonez hoppy offerings I’ve had.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours a rich, deep orange gold color with an off white head. The aroma has heavy toasted malt, rye, spice pine, tangerine and mango. I’m picking up what seems like a hint of coffee, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t the coffee version. Weird. The flavor has more strong toast, spice, hints of tangerine and pineapple. Strong, toasted bitterness. More hints of coffee like roast. Maybe it’s just the heavy rye malt. Good, oily body. Not syrupy. Pretty good stuff.

(Can, 0.473 l - canned 11/03/15, at Oljenkorsi, 20160513) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, herbalness and molasses. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, herbalness, malts, caramel, toasted malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. A tasty and balanced hoppy amber ale.

Can (Beer Hunters). Amber color, good cloudy beige head, lace. Rye, citrus and caramel in the nose. Medium-bodied. Citrusy, ryeish, a bit spicey hoppyness with Caramalt base. As 5 months old same freshness issues but overall likeable.
