When crafting an Oktoberfest Lager, a few mission-critical qualities must be addressed. It should be clean, it should be crisp, it should be malty, it should be balanced, and it should be able to be consumed in massive quantities for two weeks straight while listening to bad Oom-pah music and eating nothing but pretzels and the occasional 3 am döner kebab. In the case of Fest & Last, we have nothing but confidence that we checked every one of those boxes and then some. Made with the absolute top tier of German malts, our house German Lager yeast, and a moderate dusting of German noble hops; resulting in a crisp, clean, malty, balanced, and crushable Lager with notes of freshly baked bread, toasted almonds, hard tack biscuits, slightly sweet cereal grains, hints of grass, and a soft floral finish.

Can from Total Wine & More, W. Hollywood. Lightly hazy gold, trace sparkle, ample head (w/aggressive pour) w/fair retention, trace lacing. Aroma is caramel malts, molasses, slight butterscotch, and cereal grains. Taste is strong molasses, caramel, bread crust, straw, nuts, cereal grains. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and sweet finish as taste. Usually, I find offerings in this style to be pretty boring. Have to give this credit for both complexity and strength. All with four ingredients--bravo!
