330ml bottle (dated 2014). Pours extremely murky and pale brown with some head. Pear, apple, vanilla, plenty of that saison yeast. Spicy, fruity, and seems to have aged surprisingly well. 8/1/7/3/14. Rerate: 330ml bottle (dated 2016). Pours bright orange. Lemon peel, orange peel, bitter orange, nutmeg, botanical bitters type thing, dry peppery finish. Light spritzy body. Nice, much better than the previous rating.

Bottle from Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a slightly hazy orange amber with a frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is orange citrus, light mineral, light hop. The flavour is light acid citrus sour with a crisp big citrus fruit, grainy mineral, light acidic palate with some grassy hop notes. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. A superb and very nicely balanced saison. Pretty awesome!

Very cloudy. Big big frothy white head the head just kept coming and coming. Big hoppy nose with oak, though it doesn’t seem oak barreled, tons of hops. Lots of funkiness with juniper berries and caramel. Light hoppy mouth with tons of citrus jumping through. Dry and hoppy. Big bitter hoppy finish.

One of the things I love about my relatively new conversion to posh beer is learning about the weird origins of so many styles. They used to brew this beer for the peasants at harvest time and, um, this is quite nice. I’m getting some honey and mandarin on the nose, and then when I drink it there’s citrus peel that bounces tangily across the tongue and right underneath. There’s quite a lot of hops in the finish too. Is it finished already? I reckon those Belgian peasants would have had the same response.

Bottle, 2011 version 6.5%ABV. Gold with a large white head that collapses a bit. Aroma of zesty oranges, vanilla, cloves. Taste is slightly sweet with citric tartness and spicy bitterness. Lovely dry finish with dancing zesty and spicy flavours.

Pours clear amber with a large, lasting head.Nose shows lots of fruit with lemon, orange, sherbet, kiwi-fruit and rose-like characters. Also a lot of spicy phenols I’d usually associate with tripels. Quite different but not particularly amazing or enticing.Flavours show little of the aforementioned fruit, instead there is bready/grainy malt, cloves and soft piney hops. Finishes rather dry, true to style.Carbonation is pretty high.
