Bottle from Tesco, Warrington. Copper coloured ale with a small head. Has a sweet nose, but abundant in its toffee and apple here as well as its taste. It is a beer for Halloween, and it represents the night superbly. Has a sweet taste too.

Cask at the Lord Clifden, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is light toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth sweet malt toffee big apple, light liqourice spice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not sure how they did this but it’s precisely what it says on the label. I don’t really get the earlier low ratings. The keg version does not deserve such criticism.

500ml bottle from Tesco - Not the nightmare I was dreading given previous postings. Nose is an apple-tinged caramel note, very sweet, but nothing obviously bad. Taste is sweet toffee upfront, not much different to Old Speckled, but with the added cideriness. Not a disaster, not to everyone’s taste. I get it, but won’t have it again.
