This may be a light, sessionable ale but do not let that fool you. It’s packed with flavours of blackcurrant, grapefruit and lychee from a combination of classic American and brand new English hops.

Half cask at the Olde Royal Oak. Golden pour, skin of white head. Grainy, bready aroma , light hop presence. Taste blends bready malts with a hoppy bitterness, a bit dry, a bit sticky. Creamy feel, mouth coating.

Cask at Seven Stars, Stourbridge ( not yet listed in RateBeer) – at 4.6%. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma ? Well that’s a tricky one. Sometimes I got a strong sweetness, other times it was spicy. In the mouth it has a creamy texture. There is a sweetness with hints of honey at first, but this gives way to spicy hops with an undercurrent of malts beneath. Finish is quite dry. This is excellent – hits the spot exactly !

Keg tap at Weavers Real Ale House, Kidderminster. Mid-gold and clear with a wisp of white head and lots of lacing. The aroma is full of Jester hops: spicy with notes of lychee and grapefruit. Tastes bittersweet with more spicy hop, leading to a short finish. Slight, almost watery body with low to medium carbonation. Quite a bit of character for the ABV although it is muted at the end.

Bottle at Cotteridge Wines. Poured a clear straw colour with a thin whispy white head. The aroma is fruity malt, light floral hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry mineral hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation. More of a golden ale than a bitter.
