Continually Hopped IPA

Our 70 Minute Tribute 14 is a tribute to the legendary continuously hopped IPAs from Dogfish Head Brewery. We added equal amounts of Amarillo and Simcoe hops every minute throughout the 70 minute hopping process, giving the beer a complex and balanced hop profile with a smooth bitterness.

In 2001, Dogfish Head Brewery introduced 90 Minute IPA and with it, a revolutionary method of continuous hopping – hops are added continuously throughout the boil, resulting in a smoother, more layered hop flavor profile. This technique inspired us to create 70 Minute Tribute, where we added a batch of Amarillo and Simcoe hops every minute of the 70 minute hop boil. The result is a beer with an elegant, gradually developing bitterness that is not aggressive, but nicely complements the intense citrus, resin and tropical fruit aromas. We designed the whole process as a team activity – from the brewers to the back office colleagues, everyone pitched in and helped with the regular hop dosing. That’s why 70 Minute Tribute is not only a technical tribute to an iconic hopping method, but also a symbol of the collaboration and joy we share for craft beer.

Med-thin body, medium carbo. High bitterness, med-light candyish sweetness. Lots of resiny, piney, citrusy, very classic US hops character. Clean and intense. Easy drinking and tasty. Excellent.
