Crowning Glory is Tring’s first bottle-conditioned beer and is the result of collaboration with the film director Edgar Wright. Wright wanted a special beer for his film World’s End, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, which features an epic pub crawl in the Hertfordshire area, including the Ashridge Estate. The participants drink a beer called Crowning Glory in one pub: the cask version was 14.2% and the beer has been scaled down for its appearance in bottle.

Bottle, picked up at the brewery, split at Colin and the Vikings "pre" tasting, Nol, Goteborg, Sweden 22/03/14. Hazed orange amber with moderate off white spotting. Nose is caramel, biscuit, hoppy undertones, vanilla fudge, orange, floral notes. Taste comprises caramac bar, light tropicana, yeasty notes, bitter orange, dark stoned fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hint of booze in the close. Decent stuff, carries a little depth, nice winter supper. Solid refreshing saison especially when taking the ABV into account!

Bottle at the "Colin and the Vikings tasting, Goteborg". Poured a hazy medium amber with a big frothy white head. The aroma is rich malt liqourice alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with a malt big hop bitter alcoholic palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Has a long bitter finish and bubbly mouthfeel. Really liked this. Lots of flavour.
