Ever so slightly hazy light golden and soft blonde coloured body with a very frothy off-white head that stays afloat for a long time above the 10 per cent opaque body. Aroma of grass, hay, lemons, nectarines and a soft sweetness - nice in the nose and quite hoppy. Medium-bodied; Super dry, floral and grassy flavours show up first with a big kick of grass, lemon zest, hay and pefumey notes that are very nice, old-school and alpha acid bitterness-centric - very nice as a West Coastie IPA. Aftertaste is fairly well-balanced with some crisp, slightly biscuity malt notes right up front, but the deep, bitter and astringent hops are stronger, as they should be for the style. Overall, a nice, crisp beer throughout that shows the hops well, has almost no fruity or sweet qualities and doesn't show ANY Imperial Staus qualifications at all - this is pure 'plain' West Coastie IPA in an old school sense and it's very well-executed and worth trying to find - nice! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's (grocery) in Morrisville [Cary], North Carolina on 10-June-2023 for US$4,00, canned on 01-May-2023 (#1183 on bottom of the can) and sampled at my house here in Washington on 20-June-2023.
