Fairly hazy golden coloured body with a very large, perfectly white head that leaves an ugly lace on the sides, but is around eight to ten centimetres tall that fades to around 6 centimetres after a few seconds. Aroma of stone fruits, apricots, grainy and very biscuity malts with some bread and yeast here as well, but little else and no real alpha acids from the hops here at all. Light to Medium-bodied; Very deep and biscuity malts show at first with a ton of earthy and rustic qualities with a lot of stone fruits that fade to an aspartame bite that isn't so enjoyable and ending with a lot of biscuits and bready notes from the yeast here. Aftertaste shows a lot of the malts here, with a ton of fake sugar, bready, biscuity and especially yeastie qualities - or anything with traditional alpha acid bitterness. Overall, a dry, funky and yeastie, very malty beer that tastes more like a California Common (hey, this IS from California!), a Zwickl or a Vienna (I know, these are all Lagers - it's on purpose, because that's what it tastes like!) but definitely not an IPA. Definitely interesting, but not worth the space in my suitcase that I could have used for much better beers! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in North Beach, San Francisco, California on 29-August-2022 for US$3,50 sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-September-2022.
