Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8
Very hazy, straw looking yellow coloured body with a very large, six to seven centimetre tall off-white microfoamed and creamy head that looks very nice on top of the 90 per cent opaque body. Aroma of oranges, lactose, flowers, a bit of tropical fruit candy, some grapes and of course some bitterness of the alpha acids is in the hops, but not a lot of alcohol, in the nose, at least. Full-bodied; Fairly rich oaty and wheatie malts show at first with a very pleasant orangey and lightly floral bitterness with some dryness and noticeable grapefruit zest, but the alcohol is indeed noticeable, especially at the end, with some warmth and a good sweetness that is balanced nicely and not cloying at all. Aftertaste is rich but dry, floral, slightly citrusey and not too pungent somehow with some very nice flavours and a smooth-ish finish. Overall, a pretty nice beer with a strong flavour, nice fruit notes, a good malt bill, some actual bitterness, sugars that aren't cloying and alcohol fairly well hidden that seems around 8,5 per cent. Add in the 80s inspired can from one of the best shows ever and having this fresh and local makes this very nice! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia for US$3,25 ($12,99/four pack) with the tagline 'I have a Wife' on the bottom, canned on 18-July-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington a few blocks away on 08-September-2022.
