Keg at the brewpub. Dark brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of rich coffee, roasted malt, caramel. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, mild caramel. Medium-full bodied, chewy. More like a stout than a Scotch, but pretty damned good.

On tap empire farmstead. Pours out a dark brown topped with a sand head. Nose is big coffee sweet chocolate spice pit fruit. Taste is more of the heavy roast malts coffee pit fruit notes and a nice sweetness.

A reddish copper ale with a thin mocha head, very nice. In aroma, nice mix of biscuit malt, butterscotch, coffee grind, musty character, light alcohol, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with light butterscotch, coffee grind, vanilla bean, nice. On tap at Syracuse Beer fest 2014.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast coffee and malt. Medium body with flavors of burnt malt, coffee and slight hops. The finish is roasty with a coffee and dark chocolate aftertaste. Decent overall.

Location: Sampled at TapNY, 4/27/13
Aroma: The aroma is fairly reliant on the coffee, with not much else here
Appearance: It pours a a dark brownish color with a decent sized brown head
Flavor: The taste is much the same as the nose, coffee/roasted malts, mild bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a feel that is fairly smooth and drinkable
Overall Impression: A solid coffee ale that didn't really male me think scotch ale so much. Nice stuff though. Worth trying.

Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is roasted malt and coffee. The flavour is medium bitter with a roasted malt creamy coffee watery palate. More like a coffee milk stout to me!
