Cask at 2015 Birmingham Beer Festival; dark brown pour with a frothy beige head, aroma has rich coffee plus some red fruits, taste has coffee, plus some chocolate, ok.

Cask at the Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Wow...the last rating of this beer was in 2007! It’s clearly not brewed very often. I feel privileged. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin off-white head and some broke lace. The aroma is buttery caramel and toasted malt which developed as the beer adjusted to room temperature. The flavour is medium bitter with a roasted malt, coffee, liqourice, slightly alcoholic palate. A super, flavour packed ale that grew on me over time.
