Cask at the Walsall Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin bubbly tan head and no lace. The aroma is of malt and fruit leading to a strong bitter flavour with bags of liqourice and aniseed. The bitterness is alcohol derived, but not overpowering. A new direction for Beowulf and I’m looking forward to tasting their other new beers. This is like an English traditional ale with strong Belgian characteristics.
