There is work to be done; in front of the shop is a woodpile. The luthier is not deceived and sees shapes waiting to breathe. The eye follows the grain and the density, bends itself around the flaws, and coaxes an intricate pose from the still exterior. Overnight, tired fingers carve out the idea. As the sun rises, fields are threshed, earth is tilled, boards are cut, and barns are raised. All that surrounds us awaits a steady hand to will some magic out of the seemingly ordinary. Luthier is a Belgian Saison crafted with history in mind, a beer made for those that wring all they can from the day's work. Pouring a straw yellow, Belgian malts and a classic yeast strain fill the air with notes of bread crust, clove, and hints of black pepper. Saaz and Hallertau Blanc hops bring forth notes of white grape and noble spice. We hope you enjoy this style as its early makers intended, as a refreshing pause amidst the tasks at hand.

Can at "Johnny's got a new place" beer celebration. Clear pale yellow golden color, medium sized rough bubbly white head. Aroma and flavor are lightly malts, hayish, lightly bitter, dry, almost as a hoppy pilsener. Not really a saison tbh. Nice, but no saison imo.

Pours a lightly hazy, pale lemon yellow, with big head that holds on for a bit. Aroma is full of clove and other fruit esters, not unlike a wheat beer. Flavors follow; clove, some citrus, some grape, and breadiness. Clean, crisp mouthfeel.

Charlton draught, 5/28/25.
Pale, unfiltered, mostly clear. Small, white head.
Initially I get a bit more clove than preferred (though not a ton; I just don't want any) with moderate white pepper. Nice basement funk, though, and an elegant, honey-like malt.
The flavor is surprisingly free of much, if any, clove. The nose clears, too, eventually. Black pepper, soft basement and mineral notes with a bit of fruity pear and dried herbs. Texture is superlative, as well as the rich, honey-like malt. Good attenuation. Very respectable, minimally-Americanized saison.
