This stout is heavily inspired and influenced by the beers in the void series through: it's use of reiterated mashing techniques and a long boil time to achieve a high gravity and rich malt flavors, it's extended aging in unique oak barrels; and it's inclusion of thoughtfully sourced, creative adjuncts to add depth of flavor. Chernushka was aged for 16 months in oak port barrels from JM Cellars in Maltby, WA, and includes additions of vanilla beans from Wendi Farms in Ferndale,WA/Masala, Uganda, and highly aromatic, maple syrup-like, candy-cap mushrooms

Ok, the reference in the commercial description to the Void series has me asking questions. Blaine is basically a Vancouver suburb, after all. This is a dark brown, port ba stout w/ vanilla and candy cap. Rich umami and dark malt. There’s a reason I put soy sauce and cassareep in everything…umami as fuck. Candy cap does the same and this is so much richer than I’d expect an Atwood impy to be.
