The story of this Sour Ale began when Dave Coyne of Obelisk Beer Co. came up for a visit, bringing some of his brewery's precious mixed culture with him. He and the Holy Mountain crew used that stellar blend of microfauna to ferment a soft base in oak barrels. They then conditioned the beer on second use Malbec grape pomace before bottling it up way back in April of 2023.

500mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is buggy and complex, with bright stone fruits, a touch of grape must, and gentle oak. Flavour is nicely tart, with a bright stone fruit character (apricots or nectarines), despite there being no stone fruit in here, along with gentle grape pomace, some oak, and great bugginess. Complex and wonderfully integrated. Excellent.

500mL bottle. Pours clear orange-gold with a white (#ffffff) head. Loads of musty grape skins, funky yeast, and nectarines on the nose. Flavour has musty grape skins, some nectarine-like stone fruit character, very rustic, funky yeast. This is fantastic.

500ml @ Brian's shared with Ryan and Phill.
Aroma: funky like a lambic, some acidity.
Taste: like a mix of saison and lambic, nice oak and pomace.
Overall: good, but still not as great as Floodland, requires some sophistication.

Poured from 500mL bottle (bottled Apr 2023). Hazy gold with small white head. Nice mixed ferm wild yeasts with mild grape pomace and some pils malt underlay. Blends nicely, some very feint yogurt notes, but still quite nice.

Pale salmon colour. Like a luminescent #fd8535. On the palate, tart, woody, lots of barrel, some really nice pomace. Very good.
