Oak barrel-aged imperial sour ale with passionfruit, pomegranate, orange zest, dragonfruit and limes. Pat O’Brien’s bar in New Orleans is home to more than just the iconic flaming fountain – a towering display of fire and water – it’s also the origin of the hurricane cocktail, the tropical delight which inspired this barrel-aged imperial sour ale. We added passion fruit, pomegranates, orange zest, dragon fruit, and limes for a bright, citrusy, tart treat.

Lime is heavy, dragon fruit is as light as it ever is because that fruit has basically no taste. Maybe some raspberry, salt. Pours dark copper with ok head and lacing. Tart finish. Bottle at DC Beer tasting.

750ml bottle. Looks ok... then abject disaster. Sweet. Gross. Dragon fruit though. Vomit. Big candy. 6 4 3 3 3

Bottle at the DCBeer May share. Sweet, malt, light dragon fruit tart, but not tart enough. Lacking in some acid and some fruity tartness that would be welcome. Disappointing.
