For our first long-boil stout, we knew we wanted to go big! We took only the first runnings of a huge mash and boiled that for 12 hours to create an extremely concentrated, super viscous, high gravity stout clocking in at 31º Plato. After fermentation, we aged it in a Willet 8-year-old wheated bourbon barrel for over two years to create the king of dark stouts.

Bottle. I’ve been saving this for something or other and here we are. Dark syrupy pour. Nose is this soy sauce and wine barrel. Taste of whisky, chocolate, soy sauce, fig, rum, molasses. Thick and syrupy body. Just ooze through and through. Very boozy.
