Partially barrel-aged Belgian Tripel, aged in Pedro Ximénez Sherry barrels, aged on peach and berries, and back blended to taste with fresh Tripel. Slightly oaky notes from the barrels compliment the fruit and high alcohol character from the Tripel.

The menu said “barrel-aged tripel”, but I wasn’t quite prepared for the complexity in the creation of this pint; bourbon-barrel tripel this ain’t. Comes across almost as a wild beer due to the underlying vinous/funk notes, and the peach and berries add an unexpected tart acidity. Not bad, but the “barrel-aged tripel” needs a HUGE asterisk.
