Can split at L6, thanks to Kenny, 'Farewell New Ken' tasting 18/09/19. Black with a dirty tan covering that dissipates edgeward. Nose is sweet malts, dark fruit rinds, booze tunes, vinous notes, molasses, chocolate melt. Taste comprises sweet malts, treacle toffee, fruit cake, molasses, light spice balance. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a warming boost. Not bad … drinks well for 17%!

14 December 2019. At 2nd Great Timternational Beer Tasting. Cheers to Ghent beer crew! Hazy black, no head. Aroma of candied date, raisin, green apple, toffee, chocolate sauce, dried banana, biscuit, bourbon, vanilla. Taste has sweet raisin, dates, apple & toffee wrapped in a biscuity, bit chocolatey character, spicy touch, some bitter mocha. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, more candied fruit, toffee & spices, with boozy, but actually quite well-hidden whisky alcohol. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Can't say that the 'milk' aspect works particularly well here, but it's a nice Eisbock in its own right.

Boozy, peppery, a bit harsh, but manages still to be creamy. Dark cocoa, lactose, maybe some vanilla. Very nice.
