Our Trippel has always been a big, beautiful Belgian-style ale, but in 2015, we tweaked the recipe to include a new yeast variety and even more complex malt profile. This golden beer opens with a bold blast of spicy Noble hops, courtesy of Saaz and Hallertau Mittlefruh, and gives way to the fruity aromas offered by our traditional Belgian yeast. Brewed with Pilsner and Munich malts, Trippel is classically smooth and complex, and sings with a high-note of sweet citrus before a pleasantly dry finish delivers a warm, strong boozy bite. Give Trippel a sip to get you smiling.

12 oz bottle into Chimay Trappist glass. Aroma of grain, citrus, spice (coriander, I suppose), alcohol. Aroma is not as satisfyingly complex as a true Belgian beer. The grain smells cheaper. I donβt believe New Belgium uses adjunct grain, but I donβt know for sure. Pours a deep clear gold with medium head with not much retention and decent lacework. Starts sweet and finishes just slightly bitter. Leaves a nice authentic Belgian aftertaste on the tongue. Full-bodied, medium-high carbonation. Oily. Apart from a minor problem with the aroma, I think this is a very nice beer and one I think even a Trappist monk would approve of.

12oz bottle poured into New Belgium wide tulip glass. Filtered golden-tan, with some soapy faded head. Sweet alcohol infused orange candy aroma, maybe a touch of coriander and vanilla as well. Hits the spot stylistically, carefully avoiding the overly sticky sweetness that so many US versions tend to have. Delicately spiced, with sweet malt and hoppiness in the aftertaste. Clean and tasty.

11th October 2008. GABF. Clear gold beer. Very dry palate, crisp too. A little bubblegum but not for the first time with this brewery the over dry palate distracts way too much.

Bottle. Strong banana and floral aroma, golden color. Very estery flavor with honey, bananas, citrus; medicinal as well, with an uninspiring finish. Straightforward and un-complex. Not one of my favorite takes on the style. Almost typical of American tripels.

Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours deep clear gold with off white head. The aroma is apple, pear, prunes and some candi sugar notes. The taste is bubbly apples, pears and apricots. It smooths out into the finish with persistent apple notes as well as pears and apricots. Pretty smooth. Nice brew.

courtesy of vasdef42 poours golden with frothy white head. Aroma is yeasty and I found it to be rather weak, became estery as the beer warmed up giving it a light fruity character. Taste, malty, grany and wheat, yeasty. The aftertaste keeps a good feel of the abv with a light citrus finish. Sweet esters of white raisin like mouthfeel. Alcohol remains solid. Has plenty of good characteristics of a good tripel and gets better as it warms up.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, yeast, and spices - especially cardemomme and a lighter touch of coriander. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, yeast, and spices. Thanks yespr for sharing.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a creamy white head. Dense fruity, light phenolic and mild spiced to yeasty aroma. Spiced and slight rubber flavour initially. Mild yeasty ad caramel malty flavour following. Almost classic yet somewhat too phenolic and rubber like.
