So who's going to take it to the other side?
A northern yeast, some English hops and Dutch malts walk into a pub on the west coast; it could be a joke, but this is bloody serious, and even if we’re not sure the coast we’re on, we’re definitely on the same page with The Swaen, Charles Faram, Lallemand Brewing and NOMOQ as our collaborative partners of the official BPBW 2025 beer.

Draft at Only Good Beer, Budapest. 5.2% on the board. Poured a mostly clear golden colour with lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, light citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a fresh, crisp, malt, light toffee, light resin, juicy citrus, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

330ml can. Cloudy, orange golden colour with average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Tropical and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, minimally biscuity, pale malty background, notes of yellow stone fruit, apricot, mirabelle, peach, some mango, orange, a touch of brioche. Taste is mildly bitter, fruity and slightly grassy, hoppy, pale malty basis without residual sweetness, rather unspecific fruitiness in the yellow stone fruit spectrum; bitter and grassy finish.
Watery texture, smooth, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Nice aroma, minimally unpleasant aftertaste - acceptable.

Nagy, tartós, fehér hab, opálos, arany szín. Gabonás, virágos, fenyős illat. Leheletnyit savanykés, fenyős, füves, fűszeres, citrusos íz. A könnyű és közepes test határán egyensúlyozik közepes szénsavtartalommal és enyhe keserűvel karöltve. Kellemes, ropogós IPA.

On tap. Clear golden body with a white head. Aroma and taste of biscuity malt, sugar syrup lots of floral and earthy hops, slight citruses and even a touch of vanilla. I like that the bitterness is lingering in my mouth for a while after the sip. Very nice IPA.

Tap at CAJS, Budapest. Thx Vojta for sharing! Hazy amberish body, off-white head. Resinous, herbal aroma, nice enough, sweetish, but not overly so. Resinous and lightly citric taste, fresh, but without much bitterness. Would be quite old school in a good way if it had any, but the choice not to push the bitterness actually left it being slightly less interesting and dull in the finish than it would normally be - in my book at least, and a bit weird. Also, it was my price level barometer for the BP beer places - Mixát had the most fair price for it I think, while Madhouse was just ridiculous.
