Beneath the surface of this crisp, golden pilsner lies a tectonic shift in tradition. Brewed with peninsula grown malt and massive hop energy from New Zealand's finest - Nelson Sauvin and Rakau - this lager delivers waves of bright citrus, white grape, and stone fruit aromatics.

On tap at Category 12 (as Shift). Pours clear blonde with a white head. Biscuit malts and a tangy, vinous hop expression on the nose. Flavour has a lovely NZ hop expression, full of fruity gooseberries and a white wine character. Malts are crisp and clean. Excellent.

Dullish gold. Medium head, but it died fairly quickly. Medium bitterness, some cheesy saazy stuff in there, which is a problem because it's Nelson and Rakau. This must be a museum piece. Malts are okay, the bitterness isn't bad. Wish I'd have found this one a bit fresher.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 2025-04-07). Clear gold with white head. Malty grain character with mild grassy tropical hops and a slight resin finish. A bit odd, not a whole lot of NZ character and the malt is quite grainy. Average.
