With our new taproom fully open and welcoming our incredible fans, alongside newcomers to the good word of Polly’s, our brewers have been really revelling in being able to flex their brewing muscles to facilitate the wide array of styles that a bar entails.

Much as we’ll always love the pale and hoppy beers that put us on the map, we need to be conscious of catering to all tastes, which is where Nelson Kolsch was born.

Born from our passion of the classic styles, and the influence of the very first commercial brewers on what would become the craft beer movement we’re living in today, we’ve warm fermented using ale yeast, and then cold conditioned like a lager, all the while gently hopping this beer with NZ titan Nelson Sauvin to impart bright, punchy gooseberry and grape notes to play off the crisp, clean malt bill. Delicate and perfect for sessioning – line up the Stanges!

3/1/2026. Can at Polly’s Kesgrave beer share, courtesy of ITFCfan. Slightly hazy straw gold pour. Nice Nelson Sauvin hopped aroma, white grape, gooseberry, light herb and husky notes. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Drying. Moderate body, average carbonation. Enjoyed this.

440ml can. Clear golden, white head. Aroma of gooseberry, grape, dank herbs. Taste has a lot of white wine flavour, gooseberry, grape, dank herbs, pale malts. Medium bodied. Crisp and clean. Nice one.
