At what point does something enter into the realm of legendary? From his stoic gaze to his stubborn opposition to his caretakers, there was a wildness and a distant contemplation in his gaze. His prowess quickly earned him a spot at the Saratoga racetrack where, despite his youthful inexperience, he proved himself a winner. From that point on, his career was a whirlwind of domination; theNew York Times even named him Athlete of the Year in 1920, alongside another titan—Babe Ruth. Man O’ War is a Pale Ale utilizing Citra and New York-grown Triumph hops. Pouring a bright yellow with a cloud of foam rising above the rim, novel aromas float over its soft profile. Triumph‘s mix of noble and new world lineage brings notes of woody spice, peach, and lime to Citra’s backbone of fresh orange juice. Man O’ War’s storied life still has pages unwritten; his lineage is alive and well, pulling ahead of the pack in Saratoga even today.

Charlton draught, 7/3/25.
Moderately hazy, bright lemon-golden. Medium-sized, well-retained, white head.
Gentle spice with tropical fruit and a soft, fruity yeast character. Clean and snappy with nothing dampening the brightness. Dainty honey-like malts gently balance.
Soft but with a touch of biscuit for more texture. Lemony bitterness immediately adds a zestiness. Dry finish with more citrus, biscuit/cracker and minor juiciness. Very polished and snappy. Just a touch of melon and tropical fruit lingering on.

Pours a hazy, peach-orange, with mid-sized, lasting head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruit, some astringency. Flavors follow. Mouthfeel is clean and smooth. Moderate hop bitterness in the finish. Very good.
