16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/29/2019. Pours moderately hazy deep ruby red/orange, light pink/purple color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light pink head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy black currant, apricot, peach, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of currant, peach, apricot, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy black currant, apricot, peach, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy black currant, apricot, peach, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of currant, peach, apricot, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering tartness and tangy fruit. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and fairly acidic/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.1%. Overall this is an incredible milkshake sour. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of currant, peach, apricot, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish. Fantastic soft feel, and not overly lactic. Amazing balance between juicy/jammy fruit, and Lacto complexity; with a great lactose, and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Light residual sweetness with lingering acidic/tangy dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazingly spot on style example.
