Wine Barrel Aged Sour Ale Conditioned on Blackberries and Black Raspberries
This expressive creation is an exploration of fruit refermentation. A base of mature 3 year old sour blond was brought to life via a secondary extraction off of 400lbs of black raspberries that were already used once in another sour ale and 400lbs of fresh blackberries. Spectacle came clearly into focus.

Pours a hazy purplish-red color with a medium pinkish-white head that burns away steadily to a film. Strings of lace. Tart berries, oak, funky yeast and malt in the nose. Medium body with a tart mixed berry character and notes of vinous oak, funky yeast and doughy malt in the background. The finish is tart with a raspberry aftertaste. Good beer all around.
