500 ml can. lightly carbonated. Don’t taste like pear at all, more like a cheap wine. Even smells like a cheap wine.

Part of my mix a six crap rate pack purchased at New Beer. Dropped this one into my backpack before going to work. Popped it open at lunch with some tasty hen soup. Clear plastic cup. Odd whiff of stale lager as the tab is opened. Pale macro color, with a wispy quarter inch of eggshell head & minimal activity. Smells like old, soured lager, aged on cigarette butts. Going in blind, you wouldn’t be able to tell this was a cider. Industrial or not, aroma is just plain absent. Taste is more tart then sweet. Something like half flat tamarind soda, but with a yeasty, mineral finish. Residuals taste like they carbonated it with hydrogen peroxide. Can states 30 grams of sugar, 285 calories. Honestly, it doesn’t seem that sweet. The high acidity covers up a lot of it. I’m sure I’ll have a headache later. Yes, I finished the can. I’ve had worse.

Can. Clear light yellow with no head. Sweet yet funky pear aroma. The flavor is sweet on the front and tart on the back. Light and refreshing.

Can from Half Time. Pours lightly yellow water with no head. Light perry aroma. Near medium body with mild carbonation. The flavor is very tart, dry pear. It’s astringent. Seems more akin to cider than perry. Fairly dry, tho a bit of sweet keeps turning up. Not bad stuff.

Pour is a pee gold with no head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavor is both sweet and sour with a little touch of pear at the end. Easy to drink and not much of an aftertaste. Not a fan of ciders but this is a really non offensive example.

500ml can, as pictured. Clearish yellow non-color, light white wine. Some fizzy carbonation bubbles. Sugary green apple and pear aroma. Ridiculously poundable, light and easy body, not much depth. An odd sourness, probably the added acid, gives the beer a slightly harsh feel, killing any natural pear feel. I love the idea of a pear cider, but this is pretty weak.

500 mL can from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a very pale straw yellow color with a thin fizzy head, appearing very much like a white wine. Aroma of tart pears, tannic notes and plastic. Taste is tart pears, apples, grapes, water. Thin and watery. Meh.

A thin yellowish perry with a thin big bubbled white head. Aroma is lightly sulfurous, rotten fruits, spoiled. In mouth, a sweet refreshing carbonated pear juice, light acidic points, does the trick on this humid plus 30C day. Can from LCBO, bougt a year ago. So it keeps well (I’m very positive about canning).
