Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 32A / base: 15B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 254 (BB: 010626). AROMA: odd medium-low mint or anise-like aroma. no other notes perceived. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and opaque. medium light brown head with medium retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with initial medium-low mint/anise note, followed by medium roasted malt background. medium bitterness with a semi-dry and roasty finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: an irish stout with smoked barley with very odd aroma and flavor. no smokiness detected.
