A classic French farmhouse style beer, this Biere de Garde is a light chestnut brown offering up toasted malt aromas and slight malt sweetness. Malty yet dry, with clean flavours and a smooth character. Strisselspalt hops impart a citrus, bergamot, grapefruit and orange characteristic.

Keg draught at the Pond, Brighton. Light floral and stone fruit notes, some orangey citrus, some crisp vanilla malt. Sweet taste of peach, orange creamsicle with a touch of sourness nearer the finish. Again more malt than I expected. Light-ish body with a good amount of carbonation to complement it. I am no expert on this style but, simple though it may have been, I enjoyed it for what it was.
