pours very dark brown, settles nearly black, with a light brown small head that leaves a film behind.
Aroma is heavy on roasted malts, then quite some wood and also some vanilla. aroma is like a very old wooden house out in the sun for the entire summer, soaked in imp. stout. well blended and rounded. vanilla clearly noticeable. but not as a sharp artificial thing that was added.
flavor is roasted malts, a lot of flavors from wood, the good stuff, salt, charred wood, some funky complexity from overexposure to wood, vanilla practically drowned in the heavy flavors of wood and roasted malts. This flavor is VERY barrel aged in the flavor. they took it off just before it went nuts. very complex, lots to explore.
