A COOL WINTER SPIN ON OUR SIGNATURE IPA
Our flagship Sculpin IPA shows its complexity in this limited Spruce Tip edition. For a different twist on our trademark IPA, we added Oregon spruce tips that contribute a unique piney, citrus and woody character on the nose. Plus, their flavor notes of red berry, lemon and wine grapes perfectly complement our hop profile. A great brew for the holidays and well beyond, this is a standout in a forest of IPAs.

It is a really good IPA, all the things that you can expect, powerful bitterness, good quality of hop, malt. 06.09.2016, sharing this beer with Fred, buying it at the ex grain d'Orges, Crissier.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, mango, honey, spruce needles and herbs. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of mango, grapefruit, spruce needles, herbs, honey, a touch of wine gum and a generous citric/piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and quite interesting, with lots of spruce tip character coming through. Nice one.

On tap at Ballast Point - Miramar, pours a clear pale copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright piney hops upfront, and metallic notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with piney hops, spruce tip, and metallic notes. Piney and metallic. Decent.

(Bottle, 0.355 l - no original BB markings, from Alko, 20190306) The beer poured deep golden and lightly hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, spiciness and lightly spruce sprouts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, spruce sprouts, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had spruce sprouts, sweetness and bitterness. A decent hoppy brew with adjuncts.
