Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 30A: pepper, marmite, celery - Base: 15B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch MO23 (BBF JAN2021). AROMA: medium roasted malt aroma with notes of black chocolate. medium-low background pepper. slight oxidation. APPEARANCE: very dark amber color and clear. medium-low beige head with meidum retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium notes of malt (dark chocolate) and slightly sweet background. medium-low bitterness with a semi-dry to dry finish. faint pepper. PALATE: medium-low to low body. medium-low carbonation. faint hot sensation from pepper. OVERALL: an average stout with a subtle pepper addition.
