Vestkyst er eit så kraftig humla øl at dei fine, fruktige smaksnyansane frå den opne gjæringa blir meir kamuflerte. Maltblandinga av pale ale malt og to sortar karamellmalt er viktige for å balansere humlen. All humle blir tilsett siste halvtimen av kokinga, noko som løftar smak og aroma på ølet. Etter primærgjæringa blir ølet tørrhumla i tanken i 9 dagar med Amarillo, Cascade, Simcoe og Zeus, før det blir tappa på flasker og fat for naturleg karbonering. Vestkyst har henta namnet sitt frå amerikanske indiaøl og frå det faktum at Kinn Bryggeri er lokalisert i den vestlegaste byen i Noreg. Den kraftige humlesmaken står godt til krydra mat og faktisk også til pinnekjøt av lam. Prøv også Vestkyst til blåmuggost og til gulrotkake!

Cheers Sigmund: Bottle at the RBESG on 9th July 2016. Light haze in the amber/orange pour, on top an off-white crown. Tropical fruits and some caramel notes in the aroma, taste follows the same lines: fruity with a good dose of semi-sweet malty molasses: good hop bite in the finish.

Bottle at RBESG16 thanks to Sigmund. Hazy dark golden to light amber with off white head. Lots of tropical fruit, caramel, resinous hops. Over medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied. Decent strong IPA.

Draft @ Barborteur Beerdays #1, 14.5.2016. Cuivrée, col beige. Arôme offre un nez assez anglais dans l’approche des houblons, le tout accompagné d’autres notes plus fruitées et malts, note de fruits rouges - effet malt et levure?, herbacée en rétro. Palais est léger, malt pâle et pils, assez sec, fini houblonné fleuri et léger agrumes voire tropical avec un malt cara persistant. Dur de cerner les houblons, base maltée partant dans tous les sens.

Bottle 0.33l at Olhus Helsinki, Helsinki. Colour is deep dark orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, pine, hops and malts. Pretty nice.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 01022017, at Ølhus Helsinki, 20160317) The beer poured deep amber and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, pine and grass. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, pine, grass, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A tasty hoppy pale ale.

Tasted from the tap on the 04/03/2016. Hazy orange amber colour with a large beige head. Aroma is fruity with notes of citrus, caramel, herbs peaches and pineapple. Flavor is malty with notes of caramel, citrus, peaches, oranges and herbs. Well balanced beer. Next one please!
