9th July 2016: RBESG Grand Tasting (part 1). Cheers Sigmund for the four large bottles from Kinn Bryggeri: I liked them all. This poured a hazy golden colour with a white topping and had an aroma that combined yeast esters, mixed fruits and grains. Taste was also a good blend of flavours: semi-sweet bread rolls, spicy, herbal notes and again some yeast presence. Fine beer, not too sure I would call it a Saison though.

0.75l bottle @ Apollon. Hmm.. No batch number on this one. Anyhow, this is a mild cloudy really dark orange, almost light copperish colored one with a nice medium sized lacing and mild lasting off-white head on the top. It smells quite alright. It has a pretty sweetish fruity tone, some classic saison yeasty tones here. I get tones of both raspberries and raspberry bush. Bread, Wet grass, hints of banana and a little bit of bubblegum also. Not typical in and direction really, but I like it. Actually reminds me a bit more of a mix between a tripel and a strange heffe than a typical saison. Well, it tastes nice. It has a thick slick oily texture in the mouth and it's a surprisingly far level below average on the bubbles. Won't say that it's flat, but for a saison there should be a lot more bubbles ticking my tongue. There's initially a little sting of the alcohol, but that fades quickly. Again, mild banana in the taste also. It's not a typical saison at all this. Some phenol, and lots of thin water melon zest. It's actually quite blend in the taste to be honest. Mild strawy tail that ends pretty quick. 24.04.2015
