Brouwerij BorrelNoot is an initiative of friends Kenneth Kortekaas and Rocco Hoogerwerf. In 2007 they started their brewing hobby with a 50 liter brewing installation. In 2013 it became a client brewer.

On November 1, 2017, the brewery opened its own micro-brewery with a brewing capacity of 2.5 hl per brew. In addition, other breweries are occasionally used, where beers are brewed in larger quantities.

Since May 1, 2021, the trade name Stadsbrouwerij Woerden is also been used.
