Founded in 1801 by John Crabbie in Leith, the brand built its legacy on steeped ginger wine.

Halewood International acquired it in 2002, launching alcoholic ginger beer in 2009. After changing its name to Halewood Artisanal Spirits, the company sold Crabbie's to Brookfield Drinks in August 2026.
