Description
The Long family are passionate fruit growers at Lytton Farm in Northamptonshire. Located in rolling countryside in what was, in 1960, a small livestock and arable farm with a small 3 hectare pick-your-own business.

With brothers Stephen and James Long at the helm, today the farm spans some 70 hectares and is a thriving fruit farm with around 45 hectares dedicated to growing blueberries under polytunnels.

The farm is renowned for the quality of this fruit, but the grading process used by supermarkets means that up to 20% is seen to be either too soft or too small for their shelves, although the actual quality and taste is unaffected.

A readily available source of quality of apples has led the brothers to work with renowned cidermaker, Simon Day, to produce an apple and blueberry cider made purely and simply from 100% freshly pressed and fermented apples and blueberries without the use of any concentrates. This co-ferment is made just like (grape) wine to produce a quintessentially English, lightly sparkling cider that retains the integrity of the fruit with a wonderfully dry, crisp and refreshing taste.
